The December 2009 issue of 'Christian Research Institute Journal' is devoted to a reassessment of Witness Lee and the local churches. The title of this issue is 'We Were Wrong.' The content of the issue addresses the concerns expressed in an Open Letter signed by 70 scholars (see http://www.open-letter.org/pdf/OpenLetter.pdf), calling on LSM to disavow certain statements by Witness Lee that, when taken out of context, appear to be heretical. The articles in this issue of the CRI Journal are truly remarkable. They are worth reading. On January 5 and 6 Hank Hanegraff (the so-called Bible Answer Man) and Elliot Miller (editor in chief of the CRI Journal) devoted the entire Bible Answer Man broadcast to a discussion of the issues addressed in the current issue of the CRI Journal. You can listen to the January 5 broadcast by:
1. Browsing to www.equip.org
2. Clicking on the 'Bible Answer Man' link near the top of the page and then on 'Broadcasts'
3. Click on the 'Christian Research Journal' Link on the left side, with the date of January 5
4. Left click on 'MP3 download' to stream the broadcast, or right click the link to download the MP3 file.
The recording contains all the advertisements that accompany the dialog between Hank and Elliot, but it is worth listening to. Ultimately, the CRI Journal articles may have a positive impact on our work in Europe. We need to ask the saints to pray that many who think that we are a cult will change their mind and that a wide door will be opened to the spreading of the ministry and the recovery throughout Europe.
