FELLOWSHIP CONCERNING THE RADIO BROADCAST IN THE UK
October 15, 2009

The co-workers have asked us to bring a particular matter to the saints throughout the Lord's recovery for fellowship in the Body. This matter is the financial need related to the radio broadcast in the United Kingdom (UK).

In the year 2000 Premier Radio in London began to broadcast the Life-study of the Bible in the London area. At that time there were fewer than 100 saints in the church in London. Today, after almost ten years, the number of saints in London has grown to more than 500, and the number of districts has increased to 10. Several other lampstands have been raised up in cities surrounding London. Most of the new saints were gained through the impact of the radio broadcast.

On September 21, 2009, Premier Radio began to broadcast their programs, including Life-study of the Bible, not just in London but throughout the United Kingdom. This means that Life-study of the Bible can now be heard at the convenient time of 8:00 pm, Monday through Friday, in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, reaching a population of approximately 60 million people, almost four times the population of the London area. The broadcast is available also on the Amana Trust website, so anyone with internet access can receive it. The great increase in the range of the radio broadcast means that we will now be able to reach many more seeking ones in many more cities in the UK.

In the past two years, as a result of the radio broadcast and the free mass distribution of the ministry publications, more than 10,000 seekers of the Lord have contacted us and have requested the ministry. These seekers are spread throughout hundreds of cities and towns in the UK, including the top 50 cities, all of which have key universities. The serving saints are now attempting to visit the contacts in all the regions in the UK, with the main emphasis being on the key large cities, which typically also have the highest number of respondents. We hope to have personal visits with the most promising respondents in most of the key cities before the end of the year and arrange follow- up meetings and seminars in the spring. We anticipate that lampstands will be raised up in a number of these cities by autumn 2010.

We believe the radio broadcast will continue to play an important role in the spreading of the Lord's recovery in the UK. So far in 2009, a new lampstand has been raised up in Bristol, England, and saints have begun to move to several other key English cities, including Chelmsford, Coventry, and Exeter, with the goal that these localities will soon become lampstands. The radio broadcast and the literature are very useful in shepherding the many seeking ones in meetings held in their homes. On several occasions Brother Lee stressed the importance of England for the Lord's move throughout Europe. On one occasion he said, 'We should realize that Great Britain is very crucial for the Lord's move throughout Europe (The World Situation and the Direction of the Lord's Move, p. 48),' and on another occasion he said, 'We may first strengthen the ministry in England because eventually England will be crucial for all of Europe (Elders' Training, Book 11: The Eldership and the God-ordained Way (3), p. 68).

We would like to bring the matter of the cost of the radio broadcast to the saints in the Lord's recovery for fellowship. The monthly cost to reach more than 60 million potential listeners is approximately 15,000 US dollars. We will ask all the European saints to participate in the expense of the broadcast, but the number of saints in the churches in Europe is still too small to supply the full amount. Therefore, we would like to open the opportunity for the churches outside Europe to fellowship with us to meet this need. At present we have funds for only the month of October. Still, we believe that the Lord will give us the way to continue the broadcast so that many more of His seekers in Europe will have access to this ministry.

The burden to spread the ministry through radio broadcasts was initiated by Brother Lee before he went to be with the Lord. Many thousands of man hours were put into the preparation of the Life- study of the Bible radio broadcasts, yet the broadcasts are heard by very few people throughout the earth. May the ministry continue to spread through the medium of radio, city by city and country by country. May the Lord burden us all to pray and to care practically for the continued spread of this great blessing to the Lord's seekers.

We recommend that the saints who wish to participate in this fellowship give to their respective local churches and that the churches send their gifts directly to Amana Trust (churches outside the USA) or to Lord's Move to Europe (churches in the USA).
